A Briefing

In 1940, Mikhail Naimy ran down the old home of his early childhood, in which he was born and whose roof and ceiling were of soil (as he mentioned in his autobiography Sab’oun سبعون (meaning ‘seventy’), and he erected a totally new one in which he lived with his family constituted of his brother Najeeb, who is 11 years younger than Mikhail, and his wife Zakieh and their three children (in chronological order): May, Youssef and Nadeem. May passed away in 2014, Youssef in 2022. Nadeem is now 94 years old.
Youssef got married in 1965 and lived in the family home in Baskinta. The home is still inhabited by Youssef’s family of wife and children, and grandchildren and their children.

سنة 1940، بعد ثمان سنوات على عودته من الولايات المتحدة، هدم ميخائيل نعيمه منزل طفولته وسطحه الترابيّ، ليشيد مكانه منزله الجديد (لا يزال قائماً حتى اليوم) وسكن مع عائلة أخيه نجيب (يصغر ميخائيل بـ11 سنة) وزوجته زكيّة وأولادهما الثلاثة وهم بالتسلسل الزمني: ميّ، يوسف ونديم.
منذ سنة 1965، تسكن المنزل عائلة ابن أخيه يوسف نجيب نعيمه وسلالته.
انتقلَت ميّ إلى النور الأبديّ سنة 2014، وشقيقها يوسف سنة 2022.
