About Mtayleb home museum

Mikhail Naimy spent his last twenty years along the coast of the northern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, the first three of which were in Jdeideh (1968 – 1970), in his rented apartment that moved in its entirety to Zalka (1970 – 1988), adjacent to Jdeideh, and another rented apartment in which he lived for the rest of his years, with his niece May Najeeb Naimy and her daughter Suha Haddad, known as Suha Naimy.

Along these 20 years, the three Mikhail, May, and Suha lived together and formed the one family, the Mimasuna family (Mimasuna = the first two letters from each of the three names and the family name).

Mikhail Naimy’s accumulated home of the three years in Jdeideh and Zalka’s seventeen years continued with May and Suha together in their Zalka home, after the passing of their beloved Mikhail Naimy on February 28, 1988, at 10.20 p.m. So, May and Suha stayed in their Zalka home from February 1988 to January 2014.

Then, on the 15th of January, 2014, at 4 a.m., it was time for May to move to the other world, so Suha stayed alone in the Mikhail Naimy Zalka home, her home, the Mimasuna home, until it was time for her to move to her owned apartment in Mtayleb on December 15, 2018. She moved with all the details that composed her Mimasuna Zalka home, and her home is now the Mikhail Naimy Mimasuna home-museum that documents with punctuality and accountability all the years that Mikhail Naimy and his Mimasuna family breathed together in Naimy’s Zalka home, the home from which five books were issued to the world.

The Mikhail Naimy Mimasuna home-museum in Mtayleb includes all the clothes, the personal belongings, the manuscripts of that particular era and the eras beyond, letters, photos, furniture of the entire home bought from Naimy’s book revenues, and much more. Mikhail Naimy was the breadwinner of his Mimasuna family.

The Mikhail Naimy Mimasuna home-museum now is a center of attraction to all types of people from different walks of life, an attraction primarily to Mikhail Naimy lovers; all visit upon a pre-scheduled appointment.

 

قضى ميخائيل نعيمه سنواتِه العشرين الأخيرة على ساحل المتن الشمالي، شمال بيروت في لبنان، ما بين منطقة الجْدَيْدة لمدّة ثلاث سنوات (1968 – 1970) ومنطقة الزلقا المُتاخمة لِما تبقّى من عمره (1970 – 1988). وكان كلّ من هذين المنزلين شقّة مستأجرة في بناية. في منطقة الجْدَيْدة، كانت شقّةُ نعيمه في الطابق الثاني، وفي الزلقا، في الطابق الثالث، وفي الشقتين سكَن مع ابنة أخيه ميّ وابنتها سهى حدّاد، المعروفة بسهى نعيمه، وكان المُعيل لعائلتِه الميماسونا (ميخائيل، ميّ، سهى، نعيمه)، والإعالة من مردود كُتبه.

بعد رحيل ميخائيل نعيمه إلى دُنيا الحقّ والنور في منزله بالزلقا، استمرّتْ ميّ وسهى بالعيش في البيت نفْسِه إلى أن رحلَتْ ميّ في 15 كانون الثاني\يناير 2014، وبقيَتْ سهى في منزل الميماسونا حتى انتقلَتْ إلى شقّتها التي تملُكها في المْطَيْلبْ في كانون الأوّل\ديسمبر، 2018 وحوّلتْها إلى منزل-متحف لميخائيل نعيمه وللميماسونا، يشهد على ملء الحياة التي عاشها الثلاثة سويّاً تحت أجنحةِ محبّةِ ميخائيل نعيمه اللامتناهية وتضحياتِه الجمّة وحنانِ ومحبّةِ ميّ الجامعة للكلمة الواحدة الثُلاثيّة الأبعاد.

يتضمّن المنزل-المتحف لميخائيل نعيمه – الميماسونا في المْطَيْلب كلّ تفصيل لِما حاكت السنوات العشرون الأخيرة من حياة الميماسونا عامَة وحياة ميخائيل نعيمه خاصّة، كأغراضه الشخصيّة، ومسودّات كُتبه المنشورة وغير المنشورة، فضلًا عن صُور توثّق تلك الحقبة وقبْلها، ورسائل وغيرِها من نسيج تلك الفترة وما يتخطّاها، مادّة تعمّر حياة بأكملها
اليوم، البيت-المتحف مقصود من الأطياف المُختلفة، خاصّة قُرّاء نعيمه، يزورونه بناء على موعد مُسْبَق
